Status: Stable.Range: Originally from India but are now found worldwide.Habitat: Tropical grasslands.Food: Grazers that eat grasses, grains, and various other plants.Reproduction: They are slow to reach maturity. The cow will give birth to usually a single calf after a gestation of about 290 days.Facts: One of the world’s oldest and smallest cattle breeds, zebus are highly resistant to heat and immune to many tropical diseases. They do not exceed 42 in (107 cm) at the withers (behind the hump). Mature cows weigh 300-500 lbs (136-227 kg) and mature bulls weigh 500-600 lbs (227-272 kg).
