The male feeds the female and their offspring throughout the nesting cycle.Facts: The casque, a narrow ridge that sits on top of this bird’s bill, resembles a horn, thus giving this species its name (hornbill). This casque is made mostly of keratin (like human fingernails) and is larger in the adult male.
