Frequently Asked Group Questions
All groups must check in at the main ticket booths. We ask that the group leader steps out of their vehicle with their confirmation letter and other necessary paperwork. Please have your headcount ready (children and adults) and payment in hand. By being prepared with your paperwork and your headcount, you can reduce your check in time and you can get started on your adventure sooner.
We have bus parking located in the main parking lot. Please ask a staff member when you arrive if you need directions.
All members of the group must be paid together. If you know you will have a late guest, please pay for that student or chaperone when you arrive. We will leave his or her name at the ticket booths so that they are granted entry into the park when they arrive. Please have the student or chaperone contact their group leader so they know where the group is located.
We do have bathrooms that are located by the front ticket booths. If you group is planning on driving through the safari when they first arrive, we do encourage the groups to use the restroom since the drive-through safari takes about an hour to an hour and a half.
You are welcome to bring outside food and drink. However, there is no storage area available for these items. Groups are responsible for their own food and coolers. We do have several picnic areas around the park where you may enjoy your lunch. Picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved. Please note that we do not allow any grilling at the park.
If you choose to order outside food, you will need to meet the delivery employee at the front office parking lot to pay and pick up your food. We will not be able to bring your food back to your group so please plan accordingly.
We do have one main restaurant and snack bars located throughout the park. Reserved lunches are subject to availability and are only available during the months of September-May. However, you are more than welcome to purchase your own lunch inside the main restaurant. Seating is always based on a first-come, first-served basis in the restaurant. If there is no seating available, we do have multiple picnic areas located throughout the park. We do ask that no outside food/coolers be brought into the restaurant.

If your group is tax exempt, we need a copy of your “Consumer’s Certificate of Exemption”. Payment must be made with an organizational check or an organizational card. We are required to include tax for ALL cash transactions. Additional note: The Florida Department of Revenue has advised Lion Country Safari that in order to properly document a tax exempt transaction paid for by a credit card we must have a copy of the credit card displaying the organization’s name on the card. This is to prove to the state that the purchase was made by the tax exempt organization. Providing this information as well as your Certificate of Exemption ahead of time will help to expedite the check-in process on the day of your visit. When providing a copy of the card please black out all but the last 4 digits of the card number and make sure that the name of the organization is clearly legible.
All programs are subject to availability and are only available during the months of September-May. In order to book a program, we do require a group to have at least 10 paying students or scouts. Educational programs are free with groups that have over 30 paying students. (This excludes the Step-On-Tour program). For groups that do not have at least 30 paying students, there will be an additional fee for a program.
We ask for school groups to have at least (1) chaperone per (10) students. One chaperone per every 10 paying students will be granted complimentary admission. **According to our policy, in order to receive a comped chaperone, the chaperone must be considered an adult that is hired to take care of students/children that are not their own. ** If you are a group with special needs, we will comp (1) chaperone per (1) child with special needs. Please note, that you must have at least 10 paying guests in order to meet the requirements. For safety purposes, chaperones and/or adults are required to stay with their students and/ or children the entire duration of their visit to Lion Country Safari.
We do require groups to pay all together. Multiple split payments are not allowed. If the school is willing to pay for the additional parents, then they will receive the discounted group rate. If the school is not willing to pay for the additional parents, a lead parent or teacher can collect the money for the payment and pay for everyone with one form of payment. If this is not possible, parents are more than welcome to attend. However, they will be charged full admission price at the gate.
There is no fee to cancel groups. However, we do require that you call or email us to cancel your group reservation at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled arrival.
We do not offer rain checks for groups because Lion Country Safari is open rain or shine. We encourage groups to dress for the weather. The drive-through safari is always open and guests are encouraged to utilize the drive-through safari when it rains since the animals tend to be more active in the rain. For safety, we will close our rides if the park is under lightning alert. If your group was scheduled for Safari Splash during this time, we will reschedule your group once we go off lightening alert. If you choose the cancel the morning of your visit, we will do our best to reschedule your group for a different day. Please call us at your earliest convenience so that we can plan to accommodate you.
In order to receive a group rate, you must have at least 10 paying guests (ages 3 and up).
With every group reservation we do require the group leader to sign our Group Rules Agreement. You may click on the link to view the group rules. https://dev.lioncountrysafari.com/pdf/forms/GroupLeaders.pdf
If you need assistance, please find any Lion Country Safari staff member. You are also more than welcome to call the main office at 561-793-1084 ext 2000 or ext 2001. If a parent needs to pick up a child early, they will need to get a shoppers pass at the front office. This pass is good for 45 minutes and only allows the parent to enter the walk-through park. Please coordinate with the parent on where your group is located in the park when they come to pick up their child.
